One thing that often isn’t discussed when looking to get fit, healthy and take on a 12 Week Challenge is the mental recovery and preparation required.
Most people when taking on a challenge are starting from scratch, and this means they have to take in a whole lot in one huge go.
Meal plans, workouts, goal setting, scheduling workouts, doing the workouts, how many teaspoons? What can I substitute for this? That? Oh No! I missed a workout, the 12 Weeks is ruined!
Slow DOWN!!!! (And Have a Green Smoothie!)
Let’s worry about things in manageable chunks and chill out. Take it one step at a time and make sure we’re even able to digest the next phase without falling into a ball of anxiety and just plain giving up.
A simple ways to manage stress is to focus on the three M’s, they are:
Meditation is an ancient practice that comes from Yoga family. Whilst there are many types, meditation generally focuses on clearing your mind of your constant thoughts and chatter, relaxing your body and creating a state focus.
A state that can take in information, a state where the glass isn’t full the brim and overflowing!
Meditation doesn’t need to be a chore, doesn’t need to be guided and can be done in just ten minutes per day.

- Improved Concentration
- Increased Happiness; and
- Is Great for Your Health (Cardiovascular Health and Immunity)

Magnesium is one of the few supplements that I recommend to all the clients of the Belinda Carusi Fitness Hub and I do this because of the wide range of benefits.

Mindfulness is extremely beneficial and is a great mental tool for acknowledging that you are where you are, focusing on the present, not the past, and acknowledging what has happening in your life at that point in time.
A great tool that you can do each and every night and each and every morning is to give thanks for something that is special to you and your life, each and every day.
You can write it down, record it and then say it out loud. It’s extremely powerful.
Mindfulness exercises are extremely important in helping you keep focus on a goal and to ensure you don’t get caught up focusing on things and people that you can’t change or control.
Next time you’re feeling out of control and completely off track, focus on the three M’s.
