Just a bit of background…

Hi, I’m Belinda Carusi and I am 23 years old. My birthday is the 20th of April (feel free to put that in your diary) and most people know me as a head strong Aries who is crazy passionate about health and fitness. My boyfriend calls me a crazy wog… but don’t stress it’s not offensive because I come from a 100% Italian background and I can definitely be a little crazy sometimes. My Italian heritage is very important to me and although my grandparents don’t speak any English and I speak very little Italian we’re able to talk and understand each other regardless.

I was born and bred in Lilydale and although my family still reside in the Eastern suburbs (which is why I base my bootcamps where I do) I have personally just moved into Hawthorn East with my partner Ben and I could not be happier. The area is unbelievably inspiring; the houses are beautiful, the open parks are great and there is an awesome café on every corner. My new place is also ideally located only 15mins away from the Queen Victoria Market. I get all my fresh produce from there and it makes for a great little outing for my boyfriend and I on a Sunday morning.


Four years ago I started working in the fitness industry and have been doing it ever since. I initially started out working at Goodlife Health Clubs in Fitzroy as a membership consultant while I completed my personal training course. But after moving on from memberships to working as a personal trainer in a major gym for over 3 years I started to notice a negative trend with the female members; I would see countless girls sign up to the gym only to get lost in the system and end up quitting after spending hundreds of dollars on a membership they never really used.

I believe it was because they were either;

1. Too scared to set foot in the place,
2. Had no idea what they were doing,
3. Did the same classes over and over again only to see no results or just simply lose motivation.

But it wasn’t until I was almost 22 that I finally got the confidence to do something about it; I started my own fitness business that would look after and nurture the girls who truly wanted to change their lifestyles and their bodies. I made the life changing choice to leave the gym and started my own women’s only bootcamp transformation challenge.

However, my drive to help women not only stems from years of experience in the fitness industry but because I am a women who has faced many of the challenges that far too many other women are experiencing on a daily basis in today’s world. It is these major stressors such as lack of sleep, anxiety, depression, lack of support, negative relationships, inadequate nutrition, an unhealthy environment and more that cause the most strain on women’s health and fitness without them realising.

I have experienced first hand what these stressors can do to your lifestyle and I am so grateful I was able to learn how to heal my life and live the way I actually wanted to live through the right lifestyle choices. For 5 long years I suffered from severe anxiety and depression. Throughout this time I was extremely unhealthy; partying until the early hours of the morning, binge drinking excessively and eating a constant cycle of junk food. I thought these things were more important to me than doing exercise and eating healthy foods and didn’t realise the effects that my actions were actually having on my body and mind.

My life turned around when I realised that I had two choices; to be depressed and anxious for the rest of my life or make the change to be the best version of myself I could be and love my life.

As you can see I obviously decided to change my life for the better and I’ve never looked back. I went to the doctors and I was referred to a psychologist who I saw on and off for over 2.5 years. My anxiety was like having a mind on fast-forward with a constant inner monologue of negativity and feelings of concern about things that would most likely never happen to me. I started to obsess and believe all the negative thoughts that I was having which only lead to more anxiety and subsequent depression. It wasn’t until I chose to stop listening to my inner negativity that I was able to begin healing myself from the inside out. This is why in my bootcamp program I place such a strong emphasis on goal setting, supportive relationships, positive affirmations and an optimistic mind set in addition to the hard physical workouts.

During my time with my psychologist I was able to realise that I felt the least anxious when I was playing sport and doing exercise. This prompted me to begin athletics again and I started training with a positive squad three times a week. Before long I felt my anxiety begin to fade but it wasn’t until I truly started loving, accepting and respecting myself that I saw the real changes in my mind and body. Ultimately, this is what led me into the world of nutrition and through daily research and experimentation I have been able to find the best techniques, which I have implemented in my program and myself, to achieve the best physical results and make the greatest lifestyle change.

Since I started nurturing my body with delicious and nutritious food and exercising on a daily basis I have been able to achieve things I never thought possible like starting my own company and winning my first fitness modelling competition. Now I make it my own personal daily challenge to put myself in situations that take me out of my comfort zone in order to grow and strengthen my own development.


Through Belinda Carusi Bootcamps I want to help women just like myself build the confidence within themselves that they need to start achieving the goals they never thought possible.

My aim is to educate as many women as possible to reach their health and fitness goals and provide them with the tools and techniques for mental strength so that they may never experience what I went through with my anxiety.

We believe humans are all born with 3 things: a mind, a body and a lifetime and how we use the first two determines the third, so at Belinda Carusi Bootcamps we provide women with the tools to not only change their lives but also influence those around them to change theirs for the better.

This just LIGHTS ME UP because if I changed my life from the lowest of lows I KNOW that everyone else can too. I believe health is the single most important thing we have and if I can share that with as many people as possible I will.

Remember at the end of the day if we don’t have our health we have nothing.

This is why I have started this blog to give back and share my knowledge and keep to my aim of educating as many people as possible on how to look and feel the best they can. I want people leaving my bootcamps and me feeling…



As such, it is my promise to you to provide an insight into the health and fitness goals of regular women who attend bootcamp and provide inspiration to others to achieve their own desired goals by uploading a blog post once a week both from my perspective as a trainer (once a month) and the girls who attend my bootcamp.
